What do I get?
Use Commas to simplify your financial life. The Commas team will help you plan and invest for the future.
What’s it like to work with us?
01. Talk It Out
After our introductory call, we’ll have our discovery meeting. The first half of this meeting will be focused on YOU — your goals and vision for the future. The second half, we’ll unpack any of your existing financial accounts. As financial planners, we want to know everything about our clients; any items that may impact your financial life and goals for the future. This will help us develop your tailored financial plan (with, hopefully, many commas) that we’ll start crafting immediately after this meeting.
02. Develop Your Plan
You’ll meet with your Commas financial planner to walk through your plan, which will include our recommendations to help you meet your goals. Often, we consider these meetings to be educational as we want you to feel confident about our recommendations. But there will be some homework for you coming out of this meeting: we want you to review the plan, discuss with any family members, and identify any follow-up questions.
03. Implement the Plan
Now it’s time to make your plan come to life. Once any existing financial accounts (if applicable) are moved over to Commas, we’ll turn on monthly savings and get everything organized for you in your client portal, hosted on the Betterment platform.
04. Activate and Refine
Your plan is in place, now what? Generally, we like to meet with clients again about six months after our initial meeting to review your insurance and estate needs. Here are some of the questions we’ll ask: Are you appropriately insured? Do you have estate plans in place? We’ll work with our trusted partners to implement any recommendations. After that, plan on meeting with your Commas financial planner at least annually. Your life is dynamic, so your plan should be too. We’ll touch base on goals, making any necessary changes, and refresh your savings plan to make sure you’re on track.
